  1. #1    There is no limit to what neocons will do and accept in the name of corporate profits. Next we will be importing pacifiers made of arsenic. I wish that this story was unbelievable.

  2. #2    I believe the pacifiers were already tainted by the lead recalls.. but yes, everything from China appears "tainted". In case you missed this post of mine a while back. Here is what we can expect for the solution

  3. #3    I wonder if China has declared war on us, and we don't know it. It seems they have been performing biological and chemical warfare on us in a subtle manner that can be blown off as accidental. Poisoning pet food, toys, and toothpaste, all in the last 6 months. They own the second largest portion of American debt. They are in a position to ruin us completely. Am I a hysterical conspiracy theorist? Maybe, but it sure seems coincidental. Too coincidental for my comfort.

  4. #4    The problem is that corporations are so hungry to get their products at the absolute lowest price possible, that they have lobbied for relaxing of trade rules, lobbied for the gutting of watchdog agenies, paid to have put into positions of authority in these agencies those willing to bend to their agendas or at least turn a blind eye and now, with no one to even check up on the products that we import, they are free to buy their products at the absolute lowest price possible, from people that can buy their raw materials at the absolute lowest price possible because they in turn have almost no control placed on them by their own gov't agencies. I don't think that there is a concerted effort o...

  5. #5    What comes around goes around. As the U.S. attains 3rd world status, we see what it's like to be a pollution dumping ground for British Petroleum and a market for Chinese junk made out of toxic waste. When the Chinese start making toys out of depleted uranium like we have blowing around Iraq we'll really have come full circle.

  6. #6    Wonderful - another Bush appointee to a key critical safety post - and look what happens...and all for the almighty dollar bottom line for corporate CEO's to ensure they get as much money as possible before the big crash...which is coming - chicken little and all that, is sometimes true. When will the masses wake the hell up?

  7. #7    #6: masses will NOT wake up. Masses were lullabied by repubicons for last 30 years (that I witnessed), and they are fast asleep. Masses are hypnotized to believe that the greatest happiness is to make a CEO fat, and the greatest patriotic sacrifice is to go shopping. Go figure.

  8. #8    About 2 years ago I purchased a piece of furniture that happened to be made in China. I thought no problem. It was maid of the usual materials and veneers, it had a terrible odor. I thought it would eventually go away as the varnish cured but it didn't. After a few weeks, everyone in the house was having trouble breathing - including the 3 dogs that spend most of their time outside. Magically after the piece was removed from the house everything went back to normal, but we get colds much more often now.

If I get ready to buy anything at all I look at the country of origin. If it says China - I WON'T BUY IT. If our Government refuses to protect us, we have to do it ourselves.

  9. #9    CBS is going to investigate? You mean like a real news organization? Naw, got to just be hype. Our networks are owned by the corporations that prey on our children and grandchildren so that their shareholders and CEO's can make an extra buck or two. CSI? Laughable, Horatio, Mac and Gil would have to much integrity to have anything to do with the whores at CBS. What's the working title, Katie tours the terror in the toy stores and it's all the Democrats fault?

  10. #10    The Chinese live with appalling pollution and low safety standards in their own country. I don't think they're deliberately trying to poison people in the US; they just don't care, because they live with so much toxic contamination themselves.
