Exposing how the AARP lobby is Screwing Youth

Now comes the House-passed health-care "reform" bill that, amazingly, would extract more subsidies from the young. It mandates that health insurance premiums for older Americans be no more than twice the level of that for younger Americans. That's much less than the actual health spending gap between young and old. Spending for those age 60 to 64 is four to five times greater than those 18 to 24. So, the young would overpay for insurance that—under the House bill—people must buy: Twenty-and thirtysomethings would subsidize premiums for fifty-and sixtysomethings. (Those 65 and over receive Medicare.)

  1. #1    A good article but it misses one important point: AARP makes more money from health "insurance" than from memberships. AARP sold us all out on Medicare "reform" and now AARP is selling us all out on Healthcare "reform".

Obama-care's trillion dollar tax on the working poor is not the solution.

    Single Payer is the solution.

  2. #2    Indeed. Why should youth be any different? AARP will screw 'em all indiscriminately when it comes to medical, pharma and insurance.

  3. #3    This issue will prove to be the catalyst which instigates an inter-generational war, perhaps limited to words, perhaps not. But in any case, the wedge is being driven deeply and will be exploited by those who want to see the nation disintegrate for personal gain.

  4. #4    Have the same costs of the premiums that are charged in Canada, with the same coverage. Single payer works for everybody.
