Oh Bummer: Obama nominates Republican Perino to Broadcasting Board of Governors

Barack Obama has nominated the former President George Bush's press secretary, Dana Perino, for a spot on the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG). The BBG oversees the US government-sponsored international broadcasting. "I'm honored by the president's announcement and I'm looking forward to serving on the bipartisan board, if I'm confirmed," Perino said after she was tapped for the key job late on Wednesday by the US president, reported AFP. Established in 1994, the BBG oversees all of the US government's non-military international broadcasting outlets, including Voice of America, Alhurra television, Radio Sawa, TV Marti, Radio Free Asia and Radio Free Europe. Politically conservative Perino is presently a Fox News contributor and holds a job, as a counselor, for the public relations firm Burson-Marsteller. Perino and other nominees need the Senate approval to be formally appointed to the top job. [Note: I am having deja vu.]

  1. #1    I am telling you, Obama could strangle a kitten on national tv and the ObamaFascists would cheer. Perino in the Obama administration in any capacity? That's nothing short of insanity, IF you think the Democratic party actually stands for anything different from what the GOP stands for.

  5. #5    It's a beautiful thing to be black and the great white hope all in the same breath. Priceless! So MSM speaks of a military coup while neolibs have their fill of most positions available in the current W.H. Whew, I'm getting tired of this. I think maybe the pres is BSng us, seriously. This is ALL bullshit. The pres seems in lockstep w/ our demise. It is setup now that the only thing Americans are allowed to manufacture now is a 'crash', that is all, no mas! Maybe we are in an era of plunder and lottery(i.e. if you're lucky).

  6. #6    Yes, but the stranger part is there are no additional outrages heard for stories posted about the same tactics that Bush used found in this administration. What is more profound is people like pd and CV have nothing but cricket sounds coming from their end. The silence is excruciatingly deafening. It has been almost a year and this prez has gotten no more astute at nominating wingnuts then Bush did. So where is the CHANGE?? C'mon fellas enlighten us!

  7. #7    She was cute -- for those who like 'em short and perky. I'm not sure where that fits in to an executive job in radio. Is this "bipartisanship?" Appoint Perino and the Democrats get to use the Senate bathrooms again or something?

  8. #8    She is the queen of misinformation, completely unqualified and elevated far above her merits. This is stupid.

  9. #9    I'll tell you the sinister part imho, AlicedeTocqueville (love the name and what he represented by the way (Alexis that is)). Anyway, we managed to be hornswaggled if that is a word, by the CIA that loves their scenarios. What we are experiencing is a puppet govt. Whose lips only wag when and how it is told to wag. I did not vote for the man personally, but if he is not a Manchurian candidate then I don't know what is. Oh, and don't holler conspiracy to try and smear me, b/c that is exactly what this is, if you understood the word. And b/c this fraud has been conspiratorial, all our elected officials in Washington with the exception of a very few should go to jail for treason and conspiracy ...
