E.J. Dionne: Democrats should ‘learn to live’ with leaving women behind on health care.

In his Washington Post column today, E.J. Dionne claimed that pro-choice lawmakers and advocates are overstating how detrimental the Stupak amendment would be to women’s access to abortion:

  3. #3    It's important that we bomb Afghanistan in oder to make their lives better, just as it's important that we screw women over in America - after all, what do they need with a luxury like the right to choose? Hell, if women start choosing the right to choose, then maybe all americans will decide that they deserve the right to choose over their healtcare, and there goes ObamaCare down the drain, and we can't have that because Obama's got to WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN...

  5. #5    Dionne is a classic example of "my-Party-right-or wrong" -- party loyalty first, principles last.

  6. #6    Exactly, PD, just like the defeated Confederates during Reconstruction, they never compromise, they just obstruct, obstruct, obstruct until they get their own way or until people get fed up with inaction in congress, vote the Democrats out, and put the GOP back in power.

It's the political equivalent of a 4 year old holding her breath until she gets what she wants only with the GOP it always seems to work.

I'm looking for a loss, a big loss, of Democratic seats in 2010, and, for the record, I've hated Republicans since Eisenhower/Nixon were in office, but I won't be supporting the fucking jellyfish who currently serve in the government.

  7. #7    Sovereignty is at issue here. The president said that he doesn't want to subsidize abortion, well would he subsidize sovereignty? Rhetorical, I say, either way. I am not afraid to say that 'We' are destroying the planet by not doing what is right. And our president is a failure.
