Paranoia Strikes Deep

The point is that the takeover of the Republican Party by the irrational right is no laughing matter. Something unprecedented is happening here — and it’s very bad for America.

  3. #3    I think the best BS I've heard so far is the blatent lie about the loss of foreign $ in our stock market because of the world's lack of confidence in Obama. But like you say it's not truth so much as what people want to hear and do that is going to change the tide in upcoming elections.

  6. #6    It's only paranoia if they _aren't_ out to get you. Obama's fundamental mistake has been to work with global capitalism to try to persuade those forces to be kinder and gentler. Sometimes you have to _break_ with evil instead of try to cut a better deal with it or you'll just be seen as a continuation of the problem.

Of course, it is damned annoying that these people were nowhere to be found five years ago, but now that the panic has set in, who's going to channel it?
