1. #1    That's good news. The article contains at least one error: "...the 23-rd District of New York is Democratic country..." NY-23 has elected nothing but Republicans since 1865. This is a massive blow to the blowhards. By the law of unintended consequences, their campaign of purity lost them an historic seat.

The ultra-socialist Democratic candidates John Corzine and Creigh Deeds conceded to Republicans Robert McDonnell and Chris Christie just about a half-hour ago.

   Twist all you want, the Dems got hammered last night, and it's only a prelude to the bloodbath that is going to ocurr in 2010. Hiding your heads in the Daily Kos sand won't help. Kossackian Democrats will do ANYTHING OTHER than reform the party, but reforming the Democratic Party is the only hope.

9. #9    matt, what you are advocating would make sense in a place like Australia where voting is mandatory and turnout is near total. Then it's noticable when small parties receive protest votes. Its a zero-sum game. But here, half the elegible voters don't bother to participate in the first place. This off-year election saw 25% turnout. So when a party loses voters, unless it loses a lot of them, like the Republicans have in the last two years, they are just added to the "apathy vote".
   And you can pretty much ignore eeeeeeeeepppppppeeeeeeee's demand for reform, it's a red herring, there is no reform that would be extreme enough, short of mass suicide on the floor of the Senate and AIPAC sent to the firing squad, all followed by an exorcism. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeee is convinced that the Democratic Party is posessed by Satan and everyone that has ever voted for a Democrat is EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEevvilllllllllllllllll. It would be hilarious if it wasn't such an obvious plea for help.
