Single-payer health care advocates arrested in protest

    This is the law that we relied on during clinic defenses. Operation Rescue tried to blockade the Clinics and when they actually got to the doors, they were taken out by the cops. As long as they didn't block the entrances, they were free to yell all they wanted.
    If you are going to demonstrate, learn how or pay the price.

  4. #4    ARepublicIfYouCanKeepIt, the point is that if you go out with the intent to get arrested and then, in fact, do get arrested because you've broken the law, then it's kinda hard to claim that your rights have been violated.
    If, however, you keep it legal, then arrests and rough tactics on the part of authorities, are illegal. At the RNC in NYC, Bloomberg sent out squads of cops to round up whole blocks of people using snowfence to contain them, then held them for many hours in "Gitmo on the Hudson", an old bus depot. They sued and won.
    I have lost count of the demonstrations I've been involved in over the past forty+ years. There are rules for these things, Freedom of Speech is not...
