The Moyock firearms training center formerly known as Blackwater is now marketing its services to civilians in addition to law enforcement and the military.A recent ad for the facility now called the U.S. Training Center in The Virginian-Pilot highlighted an array of course offerings, for beginners on up, for handgun, shotgun and carbine. Women-only classes also are available.Shotgun Life, an online magazine for wing-and-clay shotgun enthusiasts, is promoting a three-day, $1,700 course at the center. The "shooting package" includes three nights at the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center and dinner "with one or two members of U.S. Training Center's management team."It has trained more than 230,000 military and law enforcement personnel over 10 years, the Shotgun Life promo reads.The center's Web site touts the company's "ability to deliver hard-hitting, effective training experiences for military, security and law-enforcement professionals as well as civilians."
