Did the CIA orchestrate a cover-up in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy? According to the publisher of a new book, who appeared on Fox News Wednesday morning, the last living words of former President Gerald Ford fingered the CIA in the orchestration a cover-up of Kennedy's assassination. Ford, who died late last year, was the longest surviving member of the Warren Commission, which investigated Kennedy's assassination. The new book, "A Presidential Legacy and the Warren Commission," was written by Ford before his death, its publisher claims. "This book, actually authored by Gerald Ford, finally proves once and for all that the CIA, our government, did destroy documents and cover-up many facts that day in Dallas," publisher Tim Miller told Fox & Friends Wednesday morning.

Many of you are too young to remember the span of Arlen Specter’s career as a DC politician. In 1964 Specter was serving as junior counsel for the Warren Commission , the investigative body established after John Kennedy’s assassination to contain and spin that horrific event.

In the section that purports to lay out the details of the JFK assassination, the Key states, "Roselli shot Kennedy once hitting the right side of his head and blowing his brains out with a rifle from behind a fence in the grassy knoll area. Iranian security forces say they have twice foiled a plot, masterminded by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), to assassinate a top Iranian official. "Based on the confiscated evidence and documents, mercenary terrorists had planned to, with the support of the CIA and its scheme, assassinate a political official within the establishment," read a statement by the Intelligence Ministry on Monday. The plan, aimed at creating chaos in line with the unrest and riots that sparked following the presidential election in June, was thwarted through following up on intelligence, the statement added. Although the details of the terror plan was not revealed, the ministry said the terrorists had failed to eliminate the unnamed official when the Parliament (Majlis) was approving President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's ministers for his new term. The official, then was to be targeted for the second time as Iran prepared for the anniversary of the US Embassy takeover in Tehran on November 4, dubbed the national day of fighting global arrogance, the ministry said.

Conspiracies are common. If they weren’t, police stations wouldn’t need conspiracy units to investigate and prosecute crimes such as “conspiracy to import cocaine” and any other collusion on the part of two or more people to subvert the law. As Mark Twain said, “A conspiracy is nothing but a secret agreement of a number of men for the pursuance of policies which they dare not admit in public.”

I may say some things that some disagree with in this post so I apolegize in advance. I am a pretty rational person most of the time I can assure. However, watching current events is becoming quite depressing. After we were whipped into a frenzy of fear for the "War on Terror" by the right-wing, now it seems as if the right-wing is finding conspiracies everywhere within our midsts and are constantly in fear of some great conspiracy Democrats have concieved to murder the elderly, sick children, bring Communism and Facism to America (How the hell you can do both at once escapes me), all by electing a person that we really know was born in Kenya, is a Muslim and wants to endoctrinise horrific things into the minds of our children he does not march in front of a death panel.

It could not be learned whether the disgraced former Republican congressman was involved in the 2004 Blackwater contract, which produced little more than 'Power Point presentations' at a cost of $20 million, according to many accounts. But Cunningham, now serving an eight-and-a-half year sentence, was a relentless advocate of assassinations and serving on committees where he could influence contracts for such plans, the official said."

"A Florida man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to threatening to kill President Barack Obama in an e-mail that said 'the blood of Obama will run down the streets' of the U.S. capital, a federal prosecutor said. Nathan Wine, 21, admitted to a judge in Tampa, Florida, that he had sent the threatening e-mail to the U.S. Army Recruiting Command on Nov. 5, the day after Obama won the U.S. presidential election, U.S. Attorney A. Brian Albritton said in a news release."

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee are preparing to hold hearings to investigate the role of vice president Dick Cheney in allegedly ordering the CIA to conceal a secret assassination program from Congress. As I reported yesterday, there are two crucial issues at play: the nature of the U.S. assassination program and the role of former vice president Dick Cheney in concealing aspects of it from Congressional oversight. On the broader issue of U.S. government assassination, it is very unlikely that will become a central focus given that there has long been a bipartisan assassination program that continues under President Obama. Indeed, most legislators frame their opposition to this program through the lens of the concealment issue, not the assassinations. Early moves, however, by the Obama administration indicate that it is backing Cheney and the CIA In May, when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was under fire over allegations she had been briefed on U.S. torture tactics, she publicly accused the CIA of misleading her...

Most observers assume that assassination is specifically proscribed by U.S. policy. Except it isn't, exactly, and while the secret CIA assassination program canceled by Panetta may never have claimed a victim, the U.S. is already carrying out actions that look nearly exactly like assassinations, and doing so within the guidelines of domestic and international law. The United States has had plenty of legal latitude to carry out targeted killings during the so-called war on terror -- and has been exercising that option vigorously for the past eight years.

Members of Congress have expressed outrage over the "secret" CIA assassination program that former vice president Dick Cheney allegedly ordered concealed from Congress. But this program — and the media descriptions of it — sounds a lot like the assassination policy implemented by President Bill Clinton, particularly during his second term in office. A whistleblower who defected from the Pakistani Taliban has been assassinated just days after he claimed that the group was working with US intelligence to destabilize the country. Qari Zainuddin, a tribal leader of the South Waziristan region in Pakistan was shot dead on Tuesday by a gunman said to be loyal to Pakistani Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud. Analysts said that Mr Zainuddin’s murder was a serious blow to the military campaign against the militants, as support of his faction was considered crucial, reports the London Times. “[It] is a warning to other pro government tribal commanders,” said Mahmood Shah, a retired brigadier who had served as top official in the tribal region.

The Southern Baptist Convention, the nation's largest denomination, has been embarrassed by the comments of the Rev. Wiley Drake, a former officer in the convention, who said he is praying for the death of the president. Drake, a former SBC vice president who ran for president of the organization last year, said in a recent interview on Fox News Radio: "I am asking God to enforce imprecatory prayers that are throughout the Scripture that would cause [Obama's] death."

A local newspaper is apologizing for running a classified ad calling for the assassination of President Obama. John Elchert, publisher of The Warren Times Observer, yesterday said the ad, which ran Thursday, read: "May Obama follow in the steps of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy!" -- the four presidents killed while in office. Elchert said his advertising staff failed to make the historical connection. The paper turned information over to the police, and the person who placed it is now the subject of a Secret Service investigation, Elchert said. A note in yesterday's Times Observer apologized "for the oversight."

The appointment of General Stanley McChrystal as commander of US forces in Afghanistan underscores the danger of President Obama's stated desire to move on from the crimes of the Bush Administration. Not only is Dick Cheney publicly advocating for the continued use of torture but it appears that General McChrystal's headed Cheney assassination team. Without exposing the crimes of Bush, Cheney et al, we are in grave danger of seeing them repeated, whatever the President's intentions.

A Syrian man, wearing a false al-Jazeera press ID was arrested in Turkey on Friday and confessed that he and three accomplices were planning to stab the president. The first to report the foiled plot was the Saudi Arabian daily al-Watan (the nation). When al-Jazeera was contacted, Yussef al-Sharif, bureau chief, declared that the identification was 'most certainly' forged. No one in the al-Jazeera Qatar bureau knew the man and indicated surprise at the assassination attempt.
