Then again, it's just as sick as telling vulnerable people that the government is part of a worldwide conspiracy to undermine our economy, or telling them they should slit their wrists and break the law, or calling selfless American volunteers socialist brownshirts, or suggesting that the media should conduct a McCarthy-esque investigation into the American-ness of elected representatives, or basically just about anything else Michele Bachmann has done in the past year or three. Plus, practically making out W. I mean, that was sick. But not quite as sick as our crazy healthcare system. And that's the point, I suppose.

I have refrained from speaking very much on the death of a census worker on the Eastern side of my state of Kentucky. Most of the reason is that I really had hoped in my heart of hearts that it was not a murder, and that someone in my state had not been such a cowardly, soulless piece of trash that had done such a horrible thing. So how does Michele Bachmann fit into this picture?

On Mike Gallagher's radio program yesterday, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) offered a novel theory as to why Democrats want her out of office: They don't want her to become the first woman president. " Also with women politicians, they want to make sure no women, no woman becomes president before a Democrat woman, and so they're doing everything they can to, I think, sabotage women like Sarah Palin, perhaps women like myself, or similarly situated women, to make sure that we don't have a prominent national voice." (audio). Bachmann, by the way, has left it up to God whether or not she'll run for president. And if Bachmann is to be believed, Democrats are praying that she won't.

That’s really where this battle will be won — on our knees in prayer and fasting,” she told the listeners. “Remember: faith without works is dead. So we’re asking you to do all of it: pray, fast, believe, trust the Lord, but also act.”

The Star Tribune confirms what the blog Dump Bachmann has been reporting for weeks: Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-Dumb as a Stump) son Harrison has joined Teach For America, part of what the Minnesota Republican considers a dreaded government re-education camp program called AmeriCorps. Back in April, Rep. Bachmann (R-Dumb as a Stump) warned of the expansion of the program, designed to get young people involved in community service:

If you’re trying to dissuade someone from buying something, it’s best not to tell them it’s the cheaper option. But that’s the strategy behind some GOP opposition to the “public option” contained in the healthcare reform efforts currently being debated in Washington. U.S. Reps. Michele Bachmann and John Kline say the option is bad for America because it will be cheaper than the health insurance currently breaking the backs of many individuals and small businesses.

"Liberals aren't the only ones grousing about Michele Bachmann's jihad against ACORN. A trio of House Republicans are taking the gunslinging Minnesota conservative to task for saying she'd violate federal law by skipping the census — because the community development group may serve as a subcontractor on the project. Fill out the forms, they say, or run the greater risk of having the bureau use the very kinds of statistical modeling Republicans have railed against for years."

Some would say awarding a Looney Award to Michele Bachmann is like kicking a quadriplegic whilst they're down. I suppose there's some truth to that, but she always makes it so damned easy. This time she links the 2010 census to Japanese internment camps.

Bachmann is ostensibly hyperventilating over the fact that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is among the groups tapped by the U.S. Census Bureau to help recruit people as temporary Census takers. Thankfully, BuzzFlash HQ is blessed with resourceful neighbors who last week stopped by with a copy of Bachmann's census, or at least a close approximation of it. The thing about the Census is most of its questions are a matter of public knowledge, so filling it out on Bachmann's behalf isn't all that tough.

Bachman continued to display her incredible ignorance of American history by saying that the founders signed the Constitution and the Bill of Rights on the same day, apparently having so little knowledge of even the most basic facts about the founding of our country that she doesn't understand that there were nearly two years between the Constitutional Convention and the drafting by the first Congress of the amendments that would become the Bill of Rights, and another two and a half years before the Bill of Rights was ratified. By this point Bachmann had shifted the subject of her ranting from Obama's secularism to taxes, making fear of taxation the reason for the Bill of Rights.

But what seems to have gone unreported here is that Bachmann herself condones indoctrination, especially as part of an educational regime. She's just against that politically-correct "Democrat" kind. Here are a few examples of Bachmann's fascist streak:

Rep. Michelle Bachmann broadcasts her rightwing fear smears on talk radio, this time trashing AmeriCorps and Obama: "I believe that there is a very strong chance that we will see that young people will be put into mandatory service. And the real concerns is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums."

Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann ® Minnesota became the first prominent Neocon to openly call for the violent overthrow of the Obama administration. During an impassioned interview with fellow Neocon and FOX host Sean Hannity Representative Bachmann abandoned rhetoric and urged armed insurrection. Bachmann seems expressive of a growing sentiment amongst neocons, that the only hope to save America as they see it, may lie with supporters taking to the streets. What is beyond speculation is the fact since the election of America’s first African American President, thousands of white supremacist, Neo Nazi’s and separatist’s, who ordinarily do not play well together, have begun to forge alliances of common purpose.

Sarah Palin may not be in the White House, but don't rejoice too quickly. Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District has their own mini-Palin: Michele "Mad Woman" Bachmann. Bachmann is a crazy born-again who's even more fun to watch than Palin. She's got the hair, the wonderful Fargo-esque accent and penchant for abuse of power. But Bachmann's filter is nearly non-existent, allowing her to accuse our next president of being an anti-American, leftist terrorist. Sound familiar?

Although Bachmann's statement may have come as a surprise to people outside her home district in central Minnesota, she has a history of making statements that are inflammatory, controversial, questionably informed and that require further explanation. Until now, the most famous of those was her assertion that there was a plan already in place to partition Iraq and give half of it to Iran. She later said her comments had been "misconstrued" but did not elaborate. One comment she has never explained came during a debate she had while running for Congress the first time in November 2005. Prompted by a question on the rioting in France and Europe at the time, Bachmann said "not all cultures are equal, not all values are equal," letting it be known that she thought that people of the Muslim faith had an inferior culture to that of the United States and the West.
